Who We Are

B&B Farms is a private ranch located in beautiful Vevay, Indiana. We focus on raising a limited number of premium Wagyu cattle with an uncompromising, small-batch approach. We offer beef only when it’s ready and only in the quantities our land and standards allow. Availability is limited by design, not demand—because true quality can’t be rushed or scaled.

Our Family

Brad Black

1st Generation

B&B Farms is family-owned and rooted in generations of hard work, faith, and dedication. Dr. Brad Black, a retired ophthalmologist, and his wife Tami are the heart behind the operation. They are proud parents to Jessica (Kris) and B.J. (Kelly), and even prouder grandparents to eight incredible grandchildren: Joey, Emma, Hadley, Anna, Callum, Molly, Boden, and Tommy. Family is their greatest joy, and much of their time is spent traveling from field to field, gym to gym, and stadium to stadium cheering on the next generation. Brad and Tami divide their year between Indiana and Naples, Florida, but B&B Farms will always be home base. Whether hosting family gatherings or enjoying a peaceful sunset on the porch, their commitment to family, land, and legacy remains at the center of everything they do.

BJ Black

2nd Generation

B.J. and his wife Kelly are proud parents of four active and energetic kids — Joey, Anna, Molly, and Tommy. Family is at the center of everything they do. Joey currently attends DePauw University, while Anna is a student at Hanover College. Molly is a student at East Central High School, and Tommy attends Bright Elementary. When they’re not busy with school, you’ll usually find the kids on a field or court competing in soccer, baseball or softball, and basketball. Sports and teamwork have always been a big part of family life. B.J. works as a teacher at East Central Middle School, where he enjoys working with students and being part of the local community. Kelly works for Procter & Gamble and plays a huge role in keeping the busy household running smoothly. Outside of work and school, the whole family loves spending time on the farm. Whether it’s helping out, enjoying the outdoors, or simply relaxing with family and friends, the farm has become a special place where everyone can slow down, connect, and make memories together. Between sports, school, and farm life, things stay busy — but they wouldn’t have it any other way.

Derek and Cathy Allen

Farm Managers

Derek & Cathy, lifelong farmers who believe in hard work, family, and leaving the land better than we found it. Derek has spent over 40 years working livestock and hay crops, with a lifetime of hands-on skills as a welder, machinist, and die maintenance team leader. When he’s not fixing things or working the farm, you’ll find him fishing, hunting, camping, or outdoors where he belongs. Cathy is a 4th-generation farmer with a background in business and decades of experience raising tobacco, cattle, corn, and poultry. She’s passionate about gardening, flowers, and bringing fresh, honest food to the table—including farm-to-table beef, chickens, turkeys, and sheep. This summer, she’s excited to open a vegetable stand with homegrown produce and baked goods. Faith, family, and farming are at the center of everything we do. We’re proud to work the land together, share it with our community, and build memories that will last for generations.
